The Bible

I read this today from The History of Bible Translation:

No other book has been translated over such a long period of time as the Bible, portions of no other literary work have been rendered into as many languages, and no other document is today the object of such intense translation activity as the Bible.

Incredible claims, if this is right (and I think it is). Contrast this approach to the Bible with other approaches to other holy books, being banned from translation lest the translated book be considered 'corrupt'!
