George Muller on Prayer

I recently read a brief biography written by Mrs. Muller about George Muller who founded orphanages in Bristol, England for thousands of children.  He is perhaps equally famous for his confidence in God through his prayers, sometimes praying with his children at the orphanage's dining table for food when there was none. Time and again, the Lord provided and the children's needs were met.

Muller once gave 5 points on prayer:
  1. Ask only for that which it would be for the glory of God to give to us; for that and that alone can be for our real good
  2. Ask it in the name of the Lord Jesus, viz., expect it only on the ground of His merits and worthiness
  3. Believe that God is able and willing to give us what we ask Him for
  4. Continue in prayer till the blessing is granted
  5. Look out for and expect an answer till it comes
