Thanksgiving Preparations in France

Today, I was putting together questions and answers regarding the origins of Thanksgiving for our festival here in France in a week.  And I discovered that Eric Metaxas had written a children's book about Squanto, the Native American who helped the pilgrims in the 1620s.  Some very fascinating stuff, as he mentions in this CNN interview below!  In God's sovereignty, Squanto:
  • had been enslaved by British trade ships (early 1600s),
  • lived in England for a few years and learned English,
  • returned to America to find his tribe decimated by the diseases Europe had brought to America,
  • was 'adopted' by and helped out the pilgrims in his tribal home in 1621.

Who is Eric Metaxas?  He has written for Veggie Tales, Chuck Colson, and Times Magazine; wrote definitive biographies on William Wilberforce and Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

Also, Justin Taylor interviewed Eric and posted on his Thanksgiving book.
