Epiphany Celebrated Today in France

The festival's name (Epiphany) originates from the Greek word epiphania, or "appearance," meaning the coming of Jesus and God dwelling among us in the flesh. This holiday is celebrated as a culmination of Christmas days and particularly commemorates the Magi visiting Jesus.

As for French traditions surrounding this day, we partook in eating la galette des rois "the cake of the kings" in one of our classes at school.  Traditionally, there is a figurine hidden in the cake and the person who discovers it in their piece, is crowned the "king" and is to perform something special, like singing a song for the group.
