Message from Ethiopian Transition House

The message below is about a Transition house used by our adoption agency for children who have been adopted but are awaiting their US visas so that their parents can bring them home.  Here is a list of needs we just received for the T-House - from our time with them, we can testify to their continual need for formula and diapers. Hope everyone having a good Thanksgiving!I wanted to get this list out especially because of all of the fantastic deals you may run into tomorrow. This would be a great place to communicate what everyone has purchased so we don't have an excessive amount of some items or doubles of the same gifts for nannies.

• Formula: The Transition house always needs formula and right now the transition house has just enough to last about 2 weeks.

• Wipes and Diapers

• Onesies for 0-12 months

• Baby Blankes: Preferably the warmer, prettier, and fuzzier ones for when they have to take babies outside the house for medicals and such.

• Children's sheets for twin beds or slightly smaller, and crib size: You don't want to get the sheets for deep mattresses or they won't stay on the beds. The sheets they have have gone through a lot and now that the house has a lot more older kids again the need is even greater.

• Clothes for the big kids: Right now the house has 2 girls ages 14 and 8, and Boys ages 14, 12, 9, 8, and 7 ish. Of course the kids here are much smaller then the ages in America so keep that in mind when bringing clothes! Clothes of all kind are great but they especially need:

• Underware

• Socks

• Pants

And when it comes to gifts for the nannies I got asked a lot what they like and fortunately i've spent enough time with them that I got the low down.

• Chocolate, perfumes, lotions, and nail polish are always nice but if you want to get something more longer lasting...

• Music: The nannies only listen to Christian music and would like more english music to listen to and play at the house. But even more so if you can find Christian Music DVD's! The nanny Misaye (Happy Nanny) especially asked for Christian Music DVD's (and did a little happy dance when I told her i'd let the families know). So if she's your nanny that'd be a great gift for her!! But they'd share them either way.

• DVD's: The nannies watch a lot of children's movies during the day, but if you want to give them any gifts that are on their level they asked me for a few. If you want to post if you've purchased any of these or any others you can reply here so they don't get multiple of the same.

• Any other fun movies that you find they would enjoy
