Historic vote at BBC on December 16, 2012 to affirm Jason Meyer as Pastor for Preaching & Vision, and Pastor John Piper as Associate Pastor for Preaching & Vision.  I am thrilled about this.

Below, the poem Pastor John wrote for the occasion following the Sunday morning sermon by Pastor Jason:

The Universe Unleashed:Meditation on a Sermon by Jason Meyer 

No mother, on this groaning earth,Has ever, after giving birth,Bemoaned, beneath her mother's kiss,"Have I endured so much for this?" 

Unless, the groaning earth entwinedLife's cord into another kind,A noose to still her child's first breath,And lay upon her bosom death. 

But even there, believing, sheCan see, beyond the groaning, freeA lifeless Friend who rose, and thenMade all the children live again. 

And when, the final grief is groaned,She’ll whisper to her Friend, enthroned,“My ev’ry loss and lifeless kissI would endure again for this.”
