Hannah's prayer in Nigeria

Similar to Hannah in 1 Samuel 1, a woman in western Nigeria was without a son, and people made fun of her. As a follower of Jesus this woman had heard the story of 1 Samuel and prayed to the Lord, vowing that if he gave her a son, she would commit him to full-time ministry. Shortly after that, she became pregnant and gave birth to a son, naming him Steve!  He grew up and came to a crossroads in life with two solid job offers before him; either serve in the military or teach at a local school. At that point, his mother reminded him of her vow.

A few months later, Steve was attending the dedication of the Gospel of Mark in Tsikimba and was spontaneously asked to publicly read a portion of the translation. He  read so fluidly that the translation team asked him to join them. By God's grace, he accepted the offer, faithfully served as the team's keyboardist, and is now training to become a translation consultant so that he can help other language groups have access to the Word. Praise the Lord!
