Noll on Translation

Chris and I recently read an encouraging paragraph written by historian Mark Noll in 2005:

"Over the course of the last century, Christian penetration of local cultures has accelerated as never before.  The great vehicle of that acceleration has been translation, primarily translations of the Bible into local languages...In a word, the world Christian situation is marked by multiplicity because of how deeply the Christian message, translated into local languages, has become part of local cultures."
