Our Rainy Season and the West Coast's Hurricanes

If we are interpreting the weather pattern correctly, this is the math for our rainy season:
Africa's torrential rain storms today = East Coast's hurricanes tomorrow
Note the 'tropical wave' (now off the west coast of Africa) that had passed through our region in Central Africa as a rain storm a few days ago.  We assume the same for Tropical Storm Lee and Hurricane Katia (NW of the tropical wave) bordering the US.
