Around 2 pm EST today, NASA tells us that Asteroid 2012 DA 14 will come about 17,200 miles from the earth's surface, traveling at the speed of 17,450 mph! That speed is about 8 times the speed of a bullet shot from a high-speed rifle.
Simply amazing how many things like this happen, indicating on a global scale how fragile, susceptible and helpless we humans really are. This event will unfortunately not be visible to the naked eye, we are told.
