All over town and in almost each store, we see
sales signs in windows. Relevant facts about this phenomenon, equivalent to USA's Black Friday and the Day-After-Christmas:
- Stores are mandated by the French government to have sales
- Sales must run for 5 weeks, starting yesterday (the 12th) to February 15th.
- Two regions (+) in France have adjusted their sales weeks to coincide with neighboring countries'
- Stores must detail the original price as well as the sales price
- Government does not regulate how many items or how much stores discount
- Normally, all sales are final and cannot be exchanged
- Items that normally have guarantees include them if sold during sales period
